CERGEP (https://cergep.engr.tamu.edu/) is the Consortium for Education and Research in Geo-Engineering Practice at Texas A&M University. It consists of 14 major geotechnical engineering companies who choose what geotechnical problems need to be solved and pay yearly dues to fund the projects. Started in 2017, it has developed new approaches in geotechnical design.

3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

  • Drilled shaft capacity in Intermediate Geo-Materials
  • Pressure on walls retaining shrink swell soils
  • Uplift on drilled shafts in shrink swell soils
  • Settlement of shallow foundations on sand

4:15 pm to 5:15 pm

  • Shallow foundations on shrink swell soils
  • Long-term vs short-term bearing capacity of shallow foundations in clays
  • Friction on augercast piles in clays
  • Modulus of subgrade reaction for mat foundations
